Remove or Replace a Custom Domain
Custom domains can be removed when they are no longer used. Primary or built-in addresses may be protected from removal.
Where to find it: Admin → Settings → Domain
What to do
- Add and verify the replacement domain before removing the old one whenever possible.
- Update links, email signatures, profiles, and advertising that use the old address.
- Remove the old custom domain from Domain Management.
- Remove or update its DNS records at the domain provider.
- Test the replacement address from a signed-out browser.
Good to know
- Contact support if the interface says a primary or built-in domain cannot be removed.
- Removing a domain can break saved links and search results; use redirects when applicable.
